For the final project in Motion Graphics at Central Michigan University, we had to make up an app, generate the design, and animate how a user may interact with the app.
My app, named Bookreach, is an app designed to allow readers to discuss books with one another. There are many times in my life where I finish a book, only to toss it across the room and lay in bed staring at the ceiling for an hour. Being able to immediately discuss the book with individuals who have also finished the book would give me much more closure on books and I don’t have to wait a month for my friend to finish reading it so I can discuss it with them.
In this app, I wanted to stick with an earthy color pallet and draw on the satisfaction of seeing books lined up on a shelf. The serif font I chose is reminiscent of classic book fonts but by keeping everything lowercase, I kept the app from becoming too formal.
