PORTFOLIO RESUME ABOUT
About

As a child, you could not keep me away from pencils and crayons. I’ve always wanted to be some kind of artist. It began with a desire to be a cartoonist like the artist of Calvin and Hobbes, then wanting to illustrate comics with superheroes. For a time, I wanted to be a photographer. I dreamed of being an author, and then an illustrator. Once I learned about web design, I wanted to be a web designer. After a semester of learning game design, I wanted to be a game developer. And now, here I am graduated with a major in graphic design and minor in information technology. It could be said that I get to live all my childhood dream jobs at once.

I grew up in a small town and graduated from the high school there at the top of my class. After graduating, I attended Southwestern Michigan College to figure out more concretely what I wanted to do with my talents. I dabbled in graphic design and computer science while there and learned that not only was I good at it, but I really enjoyed it! I spent two years at the local college before transferring to Central Michigan University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

When my spare time isn’t taken up with volunteering, freelance jobs, or homework, I enjoy reading all kinds of books, doodling my heart out, and writing about fantastical worlds. I love making all kinds of things and I'm at my best when I can think creatively and find new solutions

Most would describe me as a quiet person, but first appearances can be misleading. I love learning new things, and a month doesn’t go by where I don’t teach myself a new skill, just because I’m curious as to how to make something work. I'm constantly experimenting with new techniques and styles, stretching myself to be more versatile.

I dreamed of being an author, and then an illustrator. Once I learned about web design, I wanted to be a web designer. After spending a summer playing indie games with friends, I thought about becoming a game developer. And now, here I am majoring in graphic design and minoring in information technology. It could be said that I get to live all my childhood dream jobs at once.

I grew up in the small town of Buchanan, MI and graduated from the high school there at the top of my class. After graduating, I attended Southwestern Michigan College to figure out more concretely what I wanted to do with my talents. I dabbled in graphic design and computer science while there and learned that not only was I good at it, but I really enjoyed it! I spent two years at the local college before transferring to Central Michigan University and pursuing a degree in graphic design.

When my spare time isn’t taken up with volunteering, freelance jobs, or homework, I enjoy reading all kinds of books, doodling my heart out, and writing about fantastical worlds. I’m usually at my most content when I can take a bike ride out to the countryside or take my dog for a walk. When I can find a fellow player, I like to hit the courts to play some tennis.

Most would describe me as a quiet person, but first appearances can be misleading. I love learning new things, and a month doesn’t go by where I don’t teach myself a new skill, just because I’m curious as to how to make something work. These last couple of years have been challenging, but I’ve come a long way and have learned a lot.
